This cold cutting saw is suitable for continuous online cutting of various materials and most types of straight seam welded pipes and cold-formed profiles. The mechanical parts of the system are solid and reliable, with the main moving components manufactured from precision standard parts. The electrical control system is fully digitally intelligent, based on servo technology, and employs multiple innovative control strategies to simplify on-site operations.
Since the cold cutting saw uses the principle of cold milling, the speed and feed rate of the saw blade during the cutting of welded pipes must be controllable. Different materials and specifications of welded pipes require the most appropriate parameters for control.
The single-tooth feed rate of the cutting saw blade is related to the material properties and cutting arc length. The variation of cutting arc lengths for typical round pipes and square pipes is shown in the figure below, thus the feed speed of the saw blade varies.
The cold cutting saw requires a longer cutting time compared to hot saws, meaning the synchronization zone between the saw carriage and pipe speed is longer, and the dragging servo must ensure synchronization during the cutting process. Additionally, the environment for welded pipe production is generally harsh, so while considering precision, the mechanical components should also focus on sturdiness and durability. The design of the electrical control system should fully ensure anti-interference, stability, and fault tolerance.
This flying saw can use high-speed steel or alloy tooth saw blades. High-speed steel (HSS) saw blades are suitable for cutting structural steel or non-alloy tool steel with a tensile strength not exceeding 500MPa, while alloy tooth (TCT) saw blades are suitable for materials with a maximum tensile strength of 1000MPa that are high hardness and high density. The rotational speed and tooth feed rate of high-speed steel and alloy tooth saw blades are different. By selecting special TCT saw blades, they can also be used for cutting pipes with internal weld ribs. Given the higher price of cold cutting saw blades, we have designed various protective measures for the saw blades to minimize customer usage costs.
In design, high-speed steel saw blades not only can cut the maximum pipe diameter but also reserve more than 20mm of grinding allowance, which can greatly reduce the usage cost of the saw blades.
The angle of the saw blade feed is related to the pipe type. Round pipes can be fed at any angle, while square or rectangular pipes should ensure that the contact and departure points of the saw blade are at the corners of the pipe. Therefore, all pipe types and exit angles produced should be communicated to us before ordering.
Clamping device: Each pipe type is equipped with a fixture that closely fits the pipe type, ensuring that there is no relative displacement between the pipe and the saw blade when the pipe speed has slight fluctuations. The material of the fixture is spheroidal graphite cast iron.
